2021 Baltimore Orioles Preview

I should start with Baltimore Orioles but this promo on the Bowie Baysox (Orioles double A affiliate) steals the show. I am very excited a minor league baseball team has a radio show, but maybe don't call it the AA Show....might be sending the wrong image.

This could be a sneaky fun team. Not a good team but a fun one. The rotation is slowly coming around to be not the worst rotation in the history of the game like they were in 2019. They would have been 67-95 in a normal season last year and that seems fair. This team is 2 years away from being 2 years away.

John Means is not awful, I think King Felix might actually be awful now. If those are your top 2 starters you are going to have a long year. Keegan Aiken and Dean Kremer close the rotation out. This is some how better then previous years which blows my mind. I don't think Keegan Aiken is that bad, I would not be surprised if he posts double digit K/9 this year, albeit with a 4+ ERA. Failed prospect Dillon Tate is in the bullpen, look for him to get some save chances.

I ADORE THESE CATCHERS. Legit 2 of my favorite catchers in the game, Pedro Severino and Chance Sisco. 2 all time "name" guys. Plus I think they both are decent to maybe good? Trey Mancini coming back is an all time great story. Ryan Mountcastle should be inline to get a bunch of hits and work some good at bats, he has a great eye, but a great eye on a bad team gets forgotten and never seen. The main reason to watch this team is new shortstop Freddy Galvis. He has been a blast to watch every where he has been and that will not change this year. He thinks he can catch every ball, hit every pitch and make every throw. He is a must watch.

Non-roster invites include previously mentioned King Felix, real life streamer Wade LeBlanc (who has unlimited options to the minors) and the Dark Knight Rises in Baltimore, Matt Harvey returns ....maybe? The real story of spring invites is Ryan Ripken, Cal's son. Good way to sell some jerseys.

Baltimore has only 42 more million dollars to pay Chris Davis over the next 2 years. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. What isn't talked about is the 1 million they are paying Andrew Cashner and the 1.5 million they are paying Mark Trumbo to not play.

Oriole Park at Camden Yards has some solid food options with the obvious Crab Cakes but the real winner to me is the "Old Bay Elote". Its essentially corn on the cob with garlic mayo and queso. Probably 10 bucks. Take my money.

NL EAST The Braves have one of my favorite players in the league invited to camp this year. Carl Freakin Edwards Jr. Sucks he isn't wearing #6 anymore but #56 will have to do I suppose. Jason Kipnis

The best part of spring every year is seeing that former all star or top prospect from 7 years ago that been on his 5th team in 4 years, all with the same goal: Making it to the big leagues again. Her
